Capture the space
Note the usable width and depth, plus the clear ceiling height around the likely hitting area. Include slopes, beams, soffits, or changes in ceiling height.
PLANNING GUIDE
Thinking about an indoor golf simulator? A few measurements, photos, and notes make it easier to talk through what may work in your room, garage, or basement.
You don’t have to design the simulator yourself. The goal of this checklist is to capture the room and your priorities so Simworks can help discuss the right direction and quote the scope you choose.
Dimensions and equipment needs vary by player, room, and system. This guide helps collect the details we need. We’ll confirm which setup fits your space and needs during the project review.
Note the usable width and depth, plus the clear ceiling height around the likely hitting area. Include slopes, beams, soffits, or changes in ceiling height.
Mark lights, fans, vents, beams, garage-door tracks, and the opener. A photo looking up from the hitting area can make clearances easier to understand.
Describe where a player could stand and swing, which screen wall you have in mind, and whether right-handed, left-handed, or both players need the space.
Send wide photos from opposite corners, the planned screen wall, and the hitting position looking toward the screen. Include the ceiling and any obstacles.
Write down any screen, launch monitor, projector, computer, or turf you already own. Brand and model details are helpful when you have them.
Is this a dedicated golf room, a garage that still needs to function, or one upgrade to an existing setup? Note what needs to stay accessible and what matters most.
Retractable and stow-away screen options can help a garage switch between golf and everyday use. The room needs to be considered as a whole, especially where the door travels and where the screen and hitting surface go when stored.
Start with your town, the type of room, rough width, length and clear height, a few photos, and what you hope to build or install. Add any equipment you already own. If you’re still planning, say so—we can start with the space and the questions you have.
